2019 SAEP GenAss & Election |
On April 13, 2019, the Society of Aerospace Engineers of the Philippines (SAEP) held its annual General Assembly and Election of Board of Directors at the PATTS College of Aeronautics.The event was awarded six (6) credit units by the CPD Council.
Main features of the event were presentations on proposed By-Laws Revision and latest CDP updates, specifically on the proposed amendment to the Operational Guidelines (OG).

Engr. Robin Rabin, SAEP President presented several proposed revisions on the Society's By-Laws. Proposals are changes to qualifications on Fellow members, Associate members, and Student members. Also, provisions and changes are to be provided on the Rights of members, Fiscal year, Composition of the Board of Directors and Terms of the Society President. The proposals were approved by the membership present and will be implemented next fiscal year.
President Rabin also delivered his report and the activities of the Society during the past year.

Engr. Ernesto Ferreras Jr., PRB Chairman, presented on the latest development on CPD. Most important concern right now is the drafting of the amendment to the Operational Guidelines (OG) of the aero engineering profession to insert/create provisions on the latest policies of PRC regarding CPD. Foremost of the changes is to revise the minimum number of credit units required for ID renewal from 45 to 15 credit units. He also presented a detailed list of the various activities that an aero engineer can do to earn credit units. This is in accordance with PRC policy of affordable and encompassing CPD activities for all professionals during the early years of CPD implementation.

On the financial aspect of the Society, Engr. Lorenzo Naval Jr., Society Treasurer, delivered his report on the financial status of the Society. He also delivered the welcome remarks.

Live streaming of the event, to SAEP North Luzon chapter... |
The highlight of the event was the holding of the first ever live streaming of the activities from the national organization to the North Luzon chapter of SAEP, specifically to Holy Angel University (HAU) where they arranged a reception room for live streaming. It enabled them to follow the day's activities and even participated in the election and in the open forum by asking questions and offered comments. Live streaming was accessed at bit.ly/SAEPcoc. This was participated by the Chapter's members led by its president, Engr. Arvin Gastardo.

The event was capped by this year's election of the Board of Directors. Elected to become officers and directors of the Society for 2019 were the following:
